The IDCS course is a highly valuable qualification within the diving industry worldwide. You are qualified to assist a Course Director on IDC’s as well as independently run a Assistant Instructor course.
IDC STAFF INSTRUCTOR PROGRAM WITH CRYSTAL DIVE
The IDC Staff Instructor course involves taking IDC Staff Instructor dive theory and standards exams, plus learning how to evaluate and critique IDC candidates in their Knowledge Development, Confined water and Open Water presentations.
You will be learning from the most experienced and successful Course Directors in Asia Pacific. This ensures that you will have a wealth of experience and knowledge to draw upon during your IDC Staff Instructor course and beyond.
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN IN YOUR STAFF INSTRUCTOR COURSE
After we have pre-assessed your instructor-level dive theory, professional level demonstration quality dive skills and role-model presentation techniques, you’ll participate in the following sessions:
◉ Instructor development standards, procedures and curriculum
◉ How to organise and conduct the Assistant Instructor course
◉ The psychology of evaluation and counselling
◉ Evaluating knowledge development, confined water and open water teaching presentations
◉ You will also audit an entire IDC. This involves participating in all IDC curriculum presentations, and evaluating candidate presentations in the classroom, swimming pool and out in the ocean.
As a IDC Staff Instructor, you are certified to independently teach the Assistant Instructor course as well as assist a Course Director on the Instructor Development Course and other instructor-level continuing education courses such as Specialty Instructor training programs.

All IDC Staff Instructor candidates must have their own set of required Staff materials (IDC Staff Crew Pack), which you may purchase from us directly.
In addition you’ll also need a copy of the up to date version of the Instructor Manual,
