In general, these are the parts of your training. But we can always adjust the exact schedule and split it up in several halfdays, if that fits in with other activities you may want to enjoy whilst on Koh Tao:

Part 1: Theory / Land Practice
The theoretical part of the Adventure Diver course is very easy. There are no videos to watch, it is based on getting into knowledge of the dives of your choice.
You will receive your own Advanced Open Water E-Manual (as this is a subcourse of it) which contains chapters for each of the existing adventure dives worldwide.
Out of these you will choose 3 dives as your Adventure dives and work through these chapters in self-study, answering the Knowledge Reviews for those. There is also a section called “Thinking like a diver” which will make you more aware about the basics and safety you learned in previous courses and what awaits you on your dives.
For some dives like Navigation, Search & Recovery or Rescue, there may be a little land practice before you go on the boat to make it easier for you to plan the tasks on the dives at hand.
There is no exam at the end of this course, you will pass the theory once you reviewed the Knowledge Reviews with your instructor.
Part 2: 3 Adventure Dives
We always try to adjust your schedule depending on the divesites chosen for the day as well as comfort and experience level.
In general, some of the dives like Navigation or Buoyancy Control Diving ask for slightly shallower sites. The Deep Dive or some other dives that are naturally deeper (like our favourite Wreck Dive) call for other dive sites, which we can adjust for by taking you on one of our three custom build dive boats.
Depending on your choice of dives you may be joining our night dive trip as well or take a third dive on your trip.

To accommodate for your choice of dives or if your travel plans ask for other options we will create your personal Adventure Diver Course and adjust the elements of it.
It can be split up over two half days as well or you can just book your private course or contact us to request a different schedule that fits you!

Minimum Age
To become a (Junior) Adventure Diver you will have to be at least 10 years old. Please note, that for some Adventure dives the minimum age is 12 or 15 years.
Minimum Certification Level
Medical Statement
You need to be medically fit for diving. You will find the Medical Statement for Scuba Diving here to download. If in doubt, please check with your physician or ask us before booking your dive experience with us.
Insurance
To comply with our dive insurance requirements, you will need to have proof (logbook etc.) of a dive within the last 6 months otherwise you will need to take part in our Crystal Dive Scuba Review before taking part in the course to receive our insurance cover.

Adventure Diver

YOUR DIVES ON VIDEO OR PICTURES
During two dives our in-house underwater film company, Crystal Images, will accompany you to capture your experience on film and then edit the footage into a 10 minute movie which we show at the bar that evening. The video is available to purchase by all course students after viewing so you can share your memories with family and friends.
Alternatively, our Underwater Videography team is available to provide you with personal and lasting memories of your experience and offer unique underwater video and photo services for your course. You can choose from a 10 minute land and underwater based video or 10-15 high resolution photographs.
These options are available for your scuba diving course and can be booked by following the link below and choosing the ‘video & photo’ option, in addition to your course booking. Please ask us about group bookings and additional options on other courses.

Can I start my Adventure Diver Course every day?
In general, yes. We start our courses any given day. To secure your desired start date, we recommend booking your Adventure Diver Course online HERE. This will guarantee your placement in a small group of maximum 4 students per Instructor.
Is it possible to change the schedule for the Adventure Diver Course?
Our schedules are flexible and we will do everything to adjust it to your travel plans. Please contact us to arrange for a schedule that suits you within the limits of the Adventure Diver Course performance requirements.
What are the rates for accommodation in my Adventure Diver Course?
For your Adventure Diver Course we offer accommodation in a private AC room (choice of Double or Twin) at a discounted rate for the standard course duration of 1 night. There are also upgrade options available for the adjacent Koh Tao Regal or Beach Club Resort. More information here or just contact us directly.
What are the minimum requirements to start my Adventure Diver Course?

How many students will be together with me in my Adventure Diver Course?
We pride ourselves to teach our Adventure Diver Course personal in groups of max. 4 students per Instructor. If you still prefer a smaller group or a private course please contact us directly. On the other hand, if you travel in a bigger group, please let us know and we will arrange for multiple Instructors to teach you together.
Will I see different dive sites during my Open Water Dives in the Adventure Diver Course?
We have 3 custom built dive boats and choose the dive sites based on your course requirements, comfort level and weather conditions. Generally, we change dive sites on a daily base, so you will dive at the best spots available for your Adventure Diver Course. More about our boats here.
Can I take a Go Pro on my dives for the Adventure Diver Course?
You can take your own camera on any of the dives. Be aware though, that you may be busy with the tasks at hand. A better option may be to arrange for our In-House Video & Photo company Crystal Images to either take professional photos or a broadcast quality video of you on two of your dives on the Adventure Diver Course.
