The Discover Scuba Diving experience at Crystal Dive is the perfect introduction into scuba diving for you!
It only takes one day, doesn’t contain much theory and starts off in the shallow waters of a pool to take your first breaths underwater.
Once comfortable, we will go on our spacious dive boat in the afternoon, where you can enjoy one or two dives with your personal instructor for the day.
Within just a day you can get the taste and if you like it, you can upgrade to the full Open Water Course on site & save time and money!

ThE DISCOVER scuba diving experience will introduce you to the underwater world in just 1 day
The Discover Scuba Diving is a 1 day program to introduce you to the underwater world & these are the parts of your experience:

Part 1: Intro & Briefing
To start the Discover Scuba Diving program you are going to meet your Instructor, introduce yourself to each other and go over some necessary paperwork.
Your Instructor will get you sized up for your equipment and give you a detailed briefing about some techniques, safety procedures, equipment use and handsignals that we use as divers. He will also tell you a bit about how to handle the marine environment and the options you have after this program as a diver.
You will get to fill in a small knowledge review after this, just to make sure you understand all the points.
Part 2: Swimming-Pool-Dive
Your instructor will set the equipment up for you and help you to put it on and get used to it.
You will enter into water first shallow enough for you to stand up in. Here you are going to practice what it’s like to breathe underwater and 5 other skills that you may need on your dives.
Once you mastered those skills your instructor will help you to practice swimming with your fins around into the deeper end of the pool.
Once you exited the pool you will have some time for lunch and then we go on the boat!
Part 3: Open Water Dive(s)
In the afternoon we will go onto our spacious dive boat, where your instructor will again prepare the equipment for you and you have some time to relax and enjoy the view, while we take a short trip to one of the shallow dive sites around Koh Tao.
Once we arrive, your Instructor will give you a briefing, go over the safety rules with you and explain the techniques for your first Open Water Dive. He will also show you what you can expect to see once you are underwater.
You will enter the water from our dive boat with a big step out and go on your dive with your personal Instructor (for this program we take a maximum of 2 divers per instructor) and explore the marine life Koh Tao has to offer.
Once you are back from your dive you can choose to either relax on the boat for a little longer or decide to join us for another dive, as we always go out for two dives on a trip.
For this program you will get a small certificate, if you decide to upgrade to a full certification course with us, this program can be credited towards it.

This 1-day experience will get you introduced to the underwater world in a safe and fun way. You will be guided by your Instructor at all times in the pool & on your first dive in the ocean!

YOUR DIVES ON VIDEO OR PICTURES
During your dives, our in-house underwater film company, Crystal Images, will accompany you to capture your experience on film and then edit the footage into a 10-minute movie which we show at the bar that evening. The video is available to purchase by all course students after viewing so you can share your memories with family and friends.
Alternatively, our Underwater Videography team is available to provide you with personal and lasting memories of your experience and offer unique underwater video and photo services for your course. You can choose from a 10 minute land and underwater based video or 10-15 high resolution photographs.
These options are available for your scuba diving course and can be booked by following the link below and choosing the ‘video & photo’ option, in addition to your course booking. Please ask us about group bookings and additional options on other courses.

Can I start my Discover Scuba Diving every day?
In general, yes. We start our courses any given day. To secure your desired start date, we recommend booking your Discover Scuba Diving online HERE. This will guarantee your placement in a small group of maximum 4 students per Instructor.
Is it possible to change the schedule for the Discover Scuba Diving?
Our schedules are flexible and we will do everything to adjust it to your travel plans. Please contact us to arrange for a schedule that suits you within the limits of the Discover Scuba Diving performance requirements.
What are the rates for accommodation in my Discover Scuba Diving program?
For your Discover Scuba Diving, we offer accommodation in a private AC room (choice of Double or Twin) at a discounted rate for the standard course duration of 1 night. There are also upgrade options available for the adjacent Koh Tao Regal or Beach Club Resort. More information here or just contact us directly.
What are the minimum requirements to start my Discover Scuba Diving?

How many students will be together with me in my Discover Scuba Diving?
We pride ourselves to teach our Discover Scuba Diving personal in groups of max. 2 students per Instructor for the Open Water Dive(s). If you travel in a bigger group, we can arrange for multiple Instructors to teach you together. please contact us directly in this case.
Can I take a Go Pro on my dives for the Discover Scuba Diving program?
For the Discover Scuba Diving as a program for non-certified divers, it is not allowed by standards to take any underwater camera by Instructor or student as you need to pay full attention at all times. Our In-House Video & Photo company Crystal Images provides perfect pictures or amazing underwater videos for you for a small surcharge. Check out this link: Video-Option.
