how you will earn
Spread over 3 to 4 days, you will complete a total of 8 dives with your instructor, including dives for wreck exploration, Nitrox usage, and gradually extending your depth limits to 40 meters.

Part 1: Theory
For the Deep Diver Specialty, you’ll cover topics like dive planning, managing gas supply, and safety considerations for diving up to 40 meters. The Wreck Diver Specialty focuses on navigation, mapping, and exploring underwater structures safely. The Enriched Air Nitrox Specialty teaches you how to plan and dive with enriched air for extended bottom times.
Once you arrive, you will have a theory session where you review everything you learned and have any questions answered in a face-to-face session with your instructor to ensure you understand the key points for safe, enjoyable dives.
Part 2: Land-Practice & Analyzing
In the Enriched Air Nitrox Specialty, you’ll learn to analyze and mark Nitrox tanks, gaining essential skills to safely plan and execute dives using enriched air.
Part 3: Open Water Dives
Over the course of these dives, you’ll build confidence and develop yourself in deep diving, wreck exploration, and using enriched air. Upon successful completion, you’ll earn certifications in all three specialties, opening up new opportunities for exciting underwater adventures.

DEEP SPECIALTY

Dive 1 – 18-30 meters – Introduction to deep diving, understanding equipment setup and techniques
Dive 2 – 24-30 meters – Practice deeper dives, refining buoyancy control and mergency protocols for deeper environments at 24-30 meters.
Dive 3 – 30-40 meters – Extend your depth to 40 meters and do narcosis tests to see how it affects you
WRECK SPECIALTY

Dive 1 – Wreck Exploration – Learn wreck diving safety procedures and how to navigate around a wreck.
Dive 2 – Mapping & Navigation – Create a basic wreck map and practice navigation techniques.
Dive 3 – Line-Laying – Use a guideline for safe wreck penetration and practice communication.
Dive 4 – Penetration and lost line procedures – Simulate lost line scenarios and penetrate the wreck.
NITROX SPECIALTY

Extended bottom time – Spend more time underwater by reducing nitrogen absorption.
Shorter surface intervals – Reduce required wait times between dives.
Increased safety margins – Lower nitrogen levels decrease decompression stress.

Minimum Certification Level
Minimum Age
A minimum age of 15 years old is required for the full package. This is a pre-requisite for both the Advanced Wreck Diving Specialty and Deep Diving Specialty. Nitrox can be done as a standalone specialty from age 10.
Medical Statement
You need to be medically fit for diving. You find the medical statement for scuba diving here to download. If in doubt, please check with your physician or ask us before booking your dive experience with us.
Insurance
To comply with our dive insurance requirements, you will need to have proof (logbook etc.) of a dive within the last 6 months otherwise you will need to take part in our Crystal Dive Scuba Review before taking part in the course to receive our insurance cover.

Can I start my Specialty Package every day?
In general, yes. We start our courses any given day. To secure your desired start date, we recommend booking your Specialty Package online HERE. This will guarantee your placement in a small group of maximum 4 students per Instructor.
Is it possible to change the schedule for my Specialty Package?
Our schedules are flexible and we will do everything to adjust it to your travel plans. Please contact us to arrange for a schedule that suits you within the limits of the Specialties performance requirements.
Is there a shorter option available for the Specialty Package?
Yes! The schedule depends not only on the amount of dives you have already taken, but as well other factors. Contact us at any time for more information.
What are the rates for accommodation?
For your Specialty Package we offer accommodation in a private AC room (choice of Double or Twin) at a discounted rate for the standard course duration of 4 nights. There are also upgrade options available for the adjacent Koh Tao Regal or Beach Club Resort. More information here or just contact us directly.
What are the minimum requirements to start my Specialty Package?
The minimum requirements for you to enroll in the Specialty Package are listed here: COURSE PREREQUISITES. If you still have questions about specific requirements or an equivalent certification, please contact us directly.
How many students will be together with me on my Specialty Package?
We pride ourselves to teach our courses personal in groups of max. 4 students per Instructor. The Wreck specialty included in this course further reduces this to a maximum of 3 per Instructor. If you still prefer a smaller group or a private course please contact us directly. On the other hand, if you travel in a bigger group, please let us know and we arrange for multiple Instructors to teach you together.
Can I take a Go Pro on my dives for the Specialty Courses?
You can take your own camera on any of the dives. Be aware though, that you may be busy with the tasks at hand. A better option may be to arrange for our In-House Video & Photo company Crystal Images to either take professional photos or a broadcast quality video of you on two of your dives. Please contact us.
