SELF-RELIANT DIVER SPECIALTY COURSE
Be prepared and self sufficent
Be self reliant
Although diving with a buddy is normal, there are reasons for an experienced diver to develop self-reliance and independence while diving.
Learning to dive without a buddy can make you a stronger diver in most dive situations.
With proper training, equipment and the right attitude to accept the risks involved in independent diving, an experienced diver can responsibly engage in dives without a buddy.
If you have the mental discipline and commitment to learn and follow self-reliant diving techniques, you’ll bolster your skills and confidence when diving alone, in a dive pair or as part of a team.
Self Reliant diving is about total focus and confidence in yourself to plan and deal with any potential emergency scenarios
.
Be safe and independent with the Self-Reliant Course.
YOUR SELF-RELIANT DIVER SPECIALTY
The Self-Reliant Specialty course trains you to be pretty much “ready for anything” and to be self-prepared.
Depending on your personal schedule we will adjust the program for you and move elements of your personal course to accommodate for your holiday plans, but in general, these are the parts of your training:

Knowledge Development
There is some self study and knowledge assessment throughout the course that your Self Reliant Instructor will guide you through.
Part 2: Dives 1 & 2
Dives 1 and 2 cover the extra equipment and surface air consumption ratios. In these dives you will get used to the redundant equipment that you must have during a Self Reliant dive.
Part 3: Dive 3
This final dive will be planned and executed perfectly by you under the supervision of your Self Reliant Instructor. You will be dealing with navigation, emergencies, air consumption and of course, seeing marine life.
