The Coral Tribe are an organisation devoted to Marine Conservation in Thailand. By training and educating divers and non divers to ocean issues, they work to improve the health of our oceans and coral reefs with a holistic approach to Marine Conservation.
With over a decade of experience in training, research and a variety of ongoing projects, their main mission is the preservation and restoration of coral reefs so that future generations can benefit from these amazing ecosystems that have been impacted by humans.
Learn coral ecology, ecosystem surveying methodologies, citizen science research and get hands on experience with Marine Conservation even if you have no experience in this exciting and very important aspect of scuba diving.
You will be accompanied and instructed at your own pace by one of The Coral Tribe’s specialist Marine Conservation Instructors, who will teach and guide you through your course or internship to gain a wealth of knowledge.

You can join the marine conservation team for short courses or longer term internships. If you have a thesis planned or university break we can also help with that.

Marine Conservation Internships
The Coral Tribe have placement for Marine Conservation Internships.
These internships range from 1 week to 3 months, allowing you to fully immerse yourself into the field of Marine Conservation.
You will become part of the team, conducting daily work on a range of The Coral Tribe’s projects collecting data and research for a range of marine conservation based projects around the world. Your data will be used by scientists and governments to help create change and protect our coral reef ecoystem.

TO GET INVOLVED WITH MARINE CONSERVATION ACTIVITIES YOU WILL NEED TO FUFIL THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Age
To enrol in Marine Conservation courses or internships you have to be minimum of 16 years old.
Minimum Certification
You have to be certified as a Advanced Open Water Diver with a Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty or have a qualifying certification from another training organisation.
Medical Statement
Insurance
To comply with our dive insurance requirements, you will need to have proof (logbook etc.) of a dive within the last 6 months otherwise you will need to take part in our Crystal Dive Scuba Review before taking part in the course to receive our insurance cover.

Do I need experience in Marine Conservation to join?
No you don’t. The Coral Tribe are flexible with their placements for training courses or internships, you simply need to have a keen interest in marine conservation.
What diving level do I need to have to join The Coral Tribe?
To conduct marine conservation activities, you are required to have a high level of control underwater. See the minimum prerequisites here.
Can I start a course or internship everyday?
Courses and internships are scheduled depending on the current level of interns and students that are prebooked. If you want to discuss booking a date then please contact us.
